The boys in the pool team had a successful first season since being promoted to Division 1 of the Caerphilly pool league. The team set out with the objective of staying in the top tier of the league and avoiding relegation back into Division 2. Now this might sound under ambitious, but the standard of pool is much higher in Division 1 and previous seasons in the top flight have resulted in relegation, at the end of the season. The season started well but a string of poor results saw the team languishing in the bottom half of the table with several games to go. However a strong finish to the season saw the team end well above the relegation zone.

The new season is due to commence at the start of November and the team are aiming for bigger things this year and hope to finish much higher in the league. A big shout out to Daz Harvard who Captained the team last season and the best of luck to Olly Hughes who takes on the mantle next season.
Home games are held fortnightly on Thursdays. Supporters are always welcome as are potential new team members.

2024 UPDATE
The United Services Club pool team has forged a friendship and spirited rivalry with the New Inn pool team from Manchester. This camaraderie began when the USC team faced off against New Inn during their annual tour which, last year, was in Manchester.
The New Inn pledged a rematch, which took place in early April at the club. This competitive event was played against a backdrop of fun and lively banter, with flags and football shirts – once again turning the night into an England v Wales showdown.
USC emerged triumphant, defending their title. Plans are already underway for next year’s match, with New Inn eager for revenge….
